We advocate medical safety and the highest quality.

What it means for you that we are medically managed

The YOUSEE philosophy puts you and your health at the center of everything we do.

Why YOUSEE?

1

We are doctors

We are ophthalmologists, and your health is our top priority. For us, always acting in the best interests of our patients means that the medical justifiability of our treatments always comes first, before economic considerations. Because not everything that is medically feasible is also sensible and appropriate.

2

Personalized advice

Providing sound and honest advice is just as important to us as the medical treatment itself. We take the time to give you comprehensive information and respond to your individual needs. Only when you are well informed can you work with us to make the best decision for your vision and the health of your eyes.

3

Swiss quality

YOUSEE clinics were founded in Switzerland with the aim of making laser eye surgery accessible to everyone: locally, at affordable prices, but to the highest medical standards. This naturally includes state-of-the-art equipment, which we exclusively use in our clinics.

Medical guidelines

The KRC:

The guidelines of the Commission for Refractive Surgery (KRC) contain recommendations for quality assurance in laser eye treatments.

These guidelines originate from Germany: They are not legally binding, but they carry a high degree of professional authority and relevance and are de facto international standards.

The KRC recommendations serve as an important guide and guideline for assessment and treatment in refractive surgery. They represent the current state of science and are developed by leading experts.

The KRC recommendations define areas of application and limitations for various refractive surgical procedures. In the area of application, the procedure is considered suitable and side effects are rare.

In the area of limitation, the procedure can still be used, but with potentially poorer results and more frequent side effects.

In these borderline areas, our internal YOUSEE guidelines are even stricter than the KRC recommendations.

You can find the KRC guidelines here.

The KRC guidelines in brief:

In order to ensure the quality and safety of laser eye surgery, the guidelines stipulate the following:

  • 1. Qualification: Physicians must complete special training courses and attend regular continuing education classes.

  • 2. Pre-operative examinations: Comprehensive examinations such as corneal measurement and intraocular pressure measurement are necessary prior to surgery.

  • 3. Information: Patients must be informed in detail about risks, side effects, and alternative treatments.

  • 4. Limitations of application: The guidelines specify the visual impairments for which certain procedures are suitable and when caution is advised.

  • 5. Side effects & risks: Possible complications should be pointed out, e.g., dry eyes, night vision problems, or, in rare cases, infections.

  • 6. Follow-up care: Regular check-ups after the operation are necessary to monitor the healing process.

  • 7. Technical requirements: Special equipment and hygienic standards are required in the treatment room.

To ensure our high standards in refractive surgery and protect our patients, these guidelines form the basis of our work.
